The research includes an evaluation of existing data using statistical models (Project 2.1, Cluster 2) as well as testing and evaluation of different biogeochemical models on monitoring and experimental field data (Project 2.2, Cluster 2). CLEO will develop model systems consisting of different combinations of process models, catchment models and large scale hydrological models (Project 3.3, Cluster 3) to be able to provide predictions of acidification and eutrophication of surface waters on different geographical scales and for different scenarios (Projects 3.2, 3.4, Cluster 3). The various modelling activities will also employ scenarios for climate, pollutant deposition and land use (Project 1.3, Cluster 1).
